Synopsis
Set in the rural countryside in England during 1960s, two teenagers bond as they grow into adults and find themselves having to become more independent. As their families find them becoming more rebellious, they are forced to take action which puts pressure on relationships and their idyllic homes.
Inspiration

Ideas
Wes Anderson's films have a bold and bright colour palette, which means that the bold and bright colours of the 1960's would fit. I would like to include artistic shots because Wes Anderson focus's a lot on making sure his shots are aligned/symmetrical. It is a huge part of his filming and defines him as an auteur. I want people to look at my key frames and immediately get what my thematic study was on. The two main characters, Susan and Michael, will be more grown-up than grown-ups because that's what Wes Anderson does when he uses children in his films. he treats children and adults as equal.
Key Characters
The main characters in which the narrative will be based around is going to be two teenagers aged between 17 and 19. They will be called Susan and Michael as these were common names during the 1960's in England.
Susan:

Like the female characters in Wes Anderson's films, Susan will be beautiful, by no means normal, and shrouded in mystery. I would like for Susan to be independent and push Michael to be more independent I feel that Wes Anderson's female characters are strong and are just as interesting as the male characters. Any inspirations for this character would come from Wes Anderson's own film 'Moonrise Kingdom', in which the character Suzy Bishop feels disconnected from her family; her little brothers live in a world of their own, and she no longer trusts her parents because her mother is carrying on an affair. Her aloof nature and severely introverted personality have resulted in several public outbursts that distance Suzy from her surroundings. Another character from Wes Anderson's films that has inspired me is Margot Tenenbaum, from 'The Royal Tenenbaums' because she is mysterious and breaks the conventions of a female role. Another female character that has inspired me is Maeby Fünke from Arrested Development (played by Alia Shawkat), who is is an accomplished con artist who cousin George Michael Bluth is secretly in love with her (see Michael).
Michael:

I would like for Michael to be a relatable character so I will make him shyer than Susan and as he bonds with her he falls for her more. A character than has inspired my character would be George Michael Bluth from Arrested Development (played by Michael Cera) who is shy, reserved and secretly in love with his cousin. Another character that could get inspiration from is Sam Shakusky from Moonrise Kingdom, who is also quite reserved, however he is confident in his actions and sticks by them, for example when he marries Suzy, he sticks by it and confirms their love is serious. He becomes adult-like and I think this would relate to my synopsis because the two teenagers become more independent and grow up.
